Asagba and leadership welcome APF to the summit

"Putting Ahaba first"


The Asagba of Asaba, Obi Professor Chike Edoziem and the Asagba in council on the 31st of December gave APF and its delegates a resounding welcome to Asaba for the "'97 Summit".

The Idea of the summit came during APF meetings in which there was a lot of discussions over how to help our home town of Asaba. APF leadership during its November meeting approved the Summit in which APF and the leadership of Asaba are to marshall out what the needs are in Asaba and how APF can help.

The summit was quite emotional as members of the Asaba leadership were overwhelmed by the fact that APF has taken the step to help the people of Asaba, their home town.

The attendees and the Asagba enumerated a lot of needs in asaba. From lack of effective mass Transit system to books for the local library and institutions in Asaba.

Professor F.N. Ndili - the Pro chancellor of the Delta state university who was at the summit made a promise to APF that he will use the university's machinery to help in clearing any item that APF might decide to send to Asaba in pursuant of any of the projects.

Members of the delegate also took a physical tour of Asaba to determine which projects might be carried out first.
In keeping with the mandate given to the delegates by APF, the leader of the delegation, MR Ephraim Okotcha, thanked the Asagba of Asaba and the leadership and told them that the delegation will take a lot to the members of APF to chew in their January meeting and hopefully come up with the first project to execute.

Members of the delegation have prepared their report on the meeting and are expected to give full report to the APF's general meeting to be held on January 25 1998.
